I’ve practiced yoga since I was in my teens, I remember leaving my first class feeling calm, happy and contented.. I kept going back because of that feeling and Yoga has been a constant companion since then.
In 2013 after years of wondering I decided to go for it and study to become a yoga teacher. I took my teacher training with Yogacampus, who I now mentor teacher trainees with. I teach regular classes in Leeds at Yoga Kula, We Are Wellness and Yoga Hero and I also I teach 1-1 yoga sessions, workshops and hold retreats in the UK, Europe and India.
I teach Hatha, Flow and Restorative Yoga. I've specialised in teaching Yoga Nidra - a beautiful and very healing form of deep relaxation. I'm a Well Woman Yoga Therapy teacher, which is a nourishing and restorative practice that honours the cyclical nature of women’s lives and within this I’ve also specialised as a pregnancy yoga teacher.
Alongside studying with Yogacampus in the UK, I was fortunate enough at the time to receive a grant through the Equity Charitable Trust which enabled me to study yogic practices in India. I’ve studied 1-1 Yoga Therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, Ashtanga yoga in Mysore and I go back to Rishikesh in the foothills of the Himalayas each year to immerse myself in practice and philosophy with my beautiful teacher Mittra Rawat. In the UK I continue to study with great love, respect and gratitude with my teacher Uma Dinsmore Tuli.
"May I have the courage today to live the life that I would love.
To postpone my dream no more but do at last what I came here for
& waste my heart on fear no more".
